Our client invited us to help them design a new extension for their home to suit their changing needs. They sought a design sympathetic to the existing woodland setting, but with its own character and identity.

Although the existing building wasn’t short on space, the layouts weren’t functional and access to natural light was limited in the living room and kitchen. Our approach was to relocate the functional utility spaces to the left of the existing plan, where views of the woodland setting are less desirable.  This unlocked the remainder of the ground floor plan to create new living spaces with a stronger connection to the outside.
